It is unfortunate to find that a lot of people who are buying dogs, especially Boerboel over the internet are less fortunate. Some people even received puppies of a different colour or gender. Not to mention the low standard.
We believe that everybody who is willing to give dog a loving home should get a great specimen. That is why we help people find quality dogs. We have no pressure to sell puppies. If we don’t like the litter, we just go to another breeder.
South Africa has over 3000 registered Breeders and at least half of these live close by.
Gauteng Province (Johannesburg/Pretoria) is the Boerboel Heartland of the World. Our cost calculation is all costs plus a standard rate.
For us it makes no sense to supply people with inferior quality dogs. It is against our moral standards and bad for business.
There are a lot of very honest breeders, but there is also the direct opposite. It is extremely difficult to differentiate between the two over the internet. We have access to all kind of inside information, through good contacts to certain breeders and the BB organisations. We establish legal contracts with the breeders, which we can easily enforce due to our close proximity to the breeders.
Example:
You as a breeder have a litter of eight pups from excellent parents - four good specimens and four not-so-good specimens. There are eight buyers - four locally and four internationally. After seeing the pups the locals are only willing to buy the good specimens (leaving the others for international buyers). The biggest problem is that the breeders start selling the pups within six weeks of birth, and they are only permitted to travel at the age of 10 weeks.

What do we know about dogs in the first place?
We come from a family of dog lovers. Ever since we can remember, we had dogs and litters around the house. The giant breeds are relatively new in our lives but since the arrival of Akira, we have spend lots of time a effort to gain us much knowledge as possible about these breeds.
Soon we both will become official Boerboel Judges for one of the South African BB Organisations. Which will mean that our knowledge will be approved and certified.
