Date of origin: 15-1600's.

Height: Males: 56-62 cm. (22-24,5 in), females: 53-58 cm. (20,8-22,7 in).

Weight: Males: 34-45 kg. (75-99 lbs), females: 27-36 kg.(60-80 lbs).

Colour: Preferred colours are fawn and brindle, while white and black are disqualifying colours.

Present situation: Rare outside uf Uruguay.

Additional info: Developed from Molosser dogs brought to Uruguay by explorers and settelers, mixed with the Uruguayan wild dog.
