Preference:
Before we begin this treatment on the “American” Cane Corso let me state that I am diametrically opposed to the notion the there are two subgenus of the breed. For the purpose of the clearing up common misconceptions surrounding the American dogs abroad I have relegated myself to accept the fact that there are perceived differences by those in Europe who have never had the opportunity to see the American Corsi in person. Drawing conclusions based on breeder websites and advertisements. I will attempt using this forum to point out the similarities between both “subgenus” in type, structure and origin. I will also try and show case some of the dogs considered representative of the breed here in the states.
