Molosserworld at moloss.com

This site is dedicated to the Molosserbreeds and to their human companions.

Molosserworld was first made as a website for the Mastiffs and Bulldogs of the world, with some of the Mountain dogs and Flock Guardians represented.
In the beginning I was going to include only the true Mastiffs and Bulldogs, and the rarest breeds of the Molosser family, breeds that had few, or none, pages at Internet that covered these rare breeds. My intentions was to not put up pages about such breeds as the Rottweiler and the Berner Sennenhund, since these breeds is very common, and already have many pages at Internet dedicated to them.
But, as time went by I realized that the site would not be "complete" if I not included all breeds from the Molosser family. The problem was where to draw the line, and deside which breeds that should be included, and which breeds that has enough Molosser blood in their veins to be considered as a Molosser.
Another problem was to decide which of the very rare breeds, many of them quite newly created, that could be considered as breeding true to type, and rightfully regarded as a breed of their own.
All in all a very difficult task I can tell you.

Molosserworld have always tried to cover the rarest breeds of the Molosser family, and when doing so sometimes breeds that would not be considered as Molossers by all visitors will be found at the pages of Molosserworld.
Molosserworld have developed to include the Mastiffs, the Bulldogs, the Flock Guardians, the Mountain dogs, and some of the Herding breeds. But, all breeds covered by Molosserworld are linked to the Molosser family, one way or another, by sharing the same blood, in a greater or lesser degree.
Notice that at most of the breed-pages the official version of the origin and history of the breed is given, but it does not necessarily mean that I have the same opinion about the history of the breed.
Molosserworld is far from complete, and it will continue to grow and expand. New pages and breeds will be added as time goes by, and when the time to work on the site can be found between all the other things that should be done.
I am lucky to have contact with many very helpful persons around the world that have helped me with pictures for the pages at Molosserworld. In some cases I do not have any pictures myself of these breeds, and in other cases the pictures sent to me have been of much better quality than my own pictures, or have showed better specimens, or both.
Some of these helpful persons have also written the pages of their breed of choise, and for that I am very thankful. I am very busy will all my other duties, and I do not have as much time that I could wish available to work on the site. Since these helpful persons have written some of the pages at Molosserworld the pages have been put up much earlier than they would have been if I had to write them myself, and, the quality of the pages are problary much better when written by persons that is involved in the breed.
I want to use the opportunety to thank these helpful persons for all their help with the pages, both pictures, information and text.
If you feel that your breed of choise have not been enough covered at Molosserworld, i.e. only covered at a fact-sheet, feel free to contact me with your offering to write the whole, or part of, the page about the breed at Molosserworld. You will of course always be credited for your work, and for your pictures.
Most of the old illustrations and pictures at the pages comes from my own collection of old books, documents and even postcards, but I am always interested in your old illustrations and pictures, since my collection is just a drop in the ocean compared to what is existing.

English is not my native language, so I hope you forgive any wrong pronounciations and misspellings, and when you find something that is badly written, mail me and tell me how better to write it.

Kaare Konradsen, Webmaster of Molosserworld.
